The Greatest Classical Music Artists Of All Time

I am a great lover of classical music, and most of my friends know this about me. A couple of weeks ago, one of my best friends asked me who I thought were the three greatest classical music artists of all time. I had to think about it for a moment, because to be honest, I had never really thought about it. After a couple of minutes of contemplation, I finally had an answer. Now, for all of my fellow classical music lovers out there, this is just my opinion, and anyone is free to disagree with me.

I am of the opinion that Mozart was the greatest of all the classical music artists of all time. The man wrote more than 50 symphonies, along with some of the greatest operas every composed. I had the pleasure of seeing two Mozart operas in the last two years. Don Giovanni was performed two years ago and The Marriage of Figaro was performed last year. I would say that my favorite opera composer of all time is still Puccini, but I never forget how I feel whenever I hear an opera from Mozart.

I would have to say that of all the classical music artists that I admire, another who is also considered among the best is Johann Sebastian Bach. Next to Mozart, I would say that he was about as good as they come. He did a lot religious music, and to me, his fugues were among the best ever written. Now, to be fair, I am a huge fan of the Baroque movement in classical music, so I am a little biased, but I can't think of a classical music artist who was more prolific than Bach, and his talent is very hard to match!

In terms of sheer talent, I have to say the most gifted of all the classical music artists was Beethoven. The reason I say this is that there is probably more beauty packed into his nine symphonies than most other composers could ever hope for. When one considers the fact that Beethoven was deaf for most of his career, it makes what he was able to achieve in the world of classical music that much more impressive. I also believe that his Moonlight Sonata was the most beautiful piece of classical music ever written.

I am sure that people will disagree with me about the greatest classical music artists of all time, but then again, that is what makes things like this fun. I have been a fan for a long time, and these are the three that I have come up with as the best of all time.
